Javier Vazquez del Mercado

Co-Founder of HAMER. Leads the firm's placement strategy and methodology.

Javier co-founded HAMER and leads its placement strategy and methodology. A four-year NCAA Division I golfer at Utah State University, where he captained the men's team, he earned three Academic All-Mountain West selections and posted a career-best 3-under 213 for a top-five finish and a team title at the UC San Diego Invitational, after a junior career that included a national title in Colombia. Off the course he trained as a management consultant at PwC, and in Madrid he has coached swing and on-course golf — bringing a player's eye and a consultant's rigor to every placement.

Hugo R. Cepeda Sánchez Aedo

Co-Founder of HAMER. Leads international operations and partnerships.

Hugo co-founded HAMER and leads its international operations and partnerships. He came up as a junior golfer at Bosque Real in Mexico City and Hacienda San Gaspar in Cuernavaca — a multiple winner across Mexico, North Texas and the AJGA who set a course record at Bosque Real and earned a place in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He played NCAA Division I golf on a full scholarship at Weber State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with minors in Philosophy and Literature, where he was named a 2024 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and selected for the McKinsey Forward Program. He has since completed a Master's in Artificial Intelligence in Madrid, is currently studying law, and is TrackMan certified. Today he leads go-to-market at Gober, an AI startup, and works in English, Spanish and French.

Diego co-founded HAMER and leads player development and on-course performance. A scratch-handicap competitor with national and international amateur experience, he studied International Business at Saint Louis University–Madrid and has worked across the business of golf — operations at Riverwalk Golf Club and the sports industry with PrimeTime Sports & Entertainment. He pairs a player's feel for what moves a scorecard with an operator's grip on how the game works off it.
